RIMMEL LONDON LASTING FINISH MATTE BY KATE MOSS LIPSTICK

From L-R: 111 Kiss of Life, 104, 107, 109

I bought this lipstick last August and fell completely in love with it after the first application. The formula is nothing like anything I've tried before. It's matte but it applies very creamy. If you are the type of person with very dry lips and find that matte lipsticks only draw out all of the fine lines and cracks on your lips, you might want to try these range of lipsticks. I have very dry lips but this formula works on me. It is also very opaque. It shows up well on me considering I have quite pigmented lips. This lipstick also has an amazing staying power. It can last up to 6 hours on me without having to reapply. You can eat and drink and it won't budge. I highly recommend checking this lipstick out if you haven't already.

The Rimmel London Lasting Finish Matte by Kate Moss lipsticks are available in 10 colours. These colours range from nudes, pinks, corals and reds with undertones to match most skin tones. It is medium to full coverage and it has a sweet watermelon scent. Some might be bothered by the scent but it didn't bother me, I actually like it. It's quite pleasant. It is retailed at USD5.49 (MYR20.36) in the US but we can only buy it through online channels like eBay and Amazon here since Malaysia has stopped carrying Rimmel products. I bought it from an online seller on eBay that was selling it for USD9.69 (MYR35.76) which in my opinion is still a decent price to pay considering  the amazing quality, formula, longevity and pigmentation of these lipsticks.

SIMPLE EVERYDAY MAKEUP ROUTINE

I thought I would do a post on a simple makeup routine that I do occasionally. This routine is super simple and I have been really enjoying it. However, I only do this when I'm in the mood to look a bit put together which only happens about 2-3 times a week. Other days I will just go out with a bare face or with a little bit of blush and lipstick. All the products used in this routine are my tried-and-true holy grail products and I am so excited to share it with you guys! Here goes:

Skincare & Primer
After putting on moisturiser and eye cream, I would usually put on primer because I have combination-oily skin and my makeup will melt off without primer. I have tried a lot of primers in the past and when I say a lot, I mean A LOT. The best one out of all in my opinion would be the Laura Mercier Foundation Primer Protect Broad Spectrum SPF30/PA+++ (Sephora). This also eliminates a step to put on a sunscreen which is always a plus in my book. I have not found an affordable primer that works on my skin, but I've heard a lot of great things about the NYX Pore Filler Primer (Sephora).

Base
For foundation, I use half a pump of Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation in 56 (Watsons, RM60). I love this foundation because it blends so easily and the colour I got matches me perfectly. Colour matching your foundation is so important and it is the key to having the perfect base. I only use concealer when I have a pronounced blemish because the foundation would have covered up most of my imperfections. The concealer that I have been loving would be the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Biscuit (NARS, RM100). I held off on buying this after watching tons of YouTube gurus raving about it because the price was quite hefty for a tube of concealer, but trust me, it is worth it. I then use the MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation (MAC, RM135) to set my base. It gives a little bit more coverage and it mattifies my skin without making it look too flat.

Blush & Contour
I don't contour much mainly because I don't think I'm doing it right but when I do, I use The Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder in 03 Medium Matte (Amazon, RM73). I like this one mainly because the colour is light, blends like a dream and it is quite forgiving for someone like me who's lacking in skills. Blushes are bae. It is the thing I love the most about makeup. I have so many blushes it's ridiculous. I rotate them but my favourites are from NARS, MAC and NYX. The one I'm currently using is a matte dusty rose blush which is the NARS Blush in Dolce Vita (NARS, RM120). The colour is so beautiful and it is perfect for someone with medium-dark skin.

Eyes & Brows
I don't tend to use eyeshadows for day makeup because I'm too lazy and I'm a bit heavy handed. I could end up looking like a disco ball which is a no no. So what I usually do is just use brow pencil and mascara. First I will start with my brows. I use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Soft Brown (eBay, RM91) to fill in my eyebrows. I only fill in the sparse areas to make them seem fuller. For mascara I use the mascara with the longest name ever which is the Maybelline Waterproof Volum Express Falsies Big Eyes Mascara in Blackest Black (Guardian, RM39). This mascara is really good and it doesn't move at all! Even when it's 35 degrees out and everything else is melting, this baby won't go anywhere. I love it!

Lips
For lips I would usually go with a rosey pink nude colour like the Rimmel London Lasting Finish Matte by Kate Moss Lipstick in 104 Rosetto (eBay, RM37) or the MAC Lipstick in Brave (MAC, RM74). I love pink nude lipsticks. It's very easy to work with and it looks really natural.

Tools
I use the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush (Real Techniques, RM35) to apply my foundation and follow that with a damp Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge (Real Techniques, RM25) to blend it out. I then use the Real Techniques Setting Brush (Real Techniques, RM30) to apply the powder. This brush is perfect for powder because of its size. It allows you to put powder on specific areas. For blush and contour, I use the the same brush which is the Real Techniques Blush Brush (Real Techniques, RM35). This brush is so soft and diffuses just the right amount of colour. All these brushes are so affordable and works amazing. I highly recommend it.

I hope you enjoyed reading this. I love nosey-ing around in people's makeup bags and I also find it useful to see what others are loving so I thought you'd like to see mine too. I will be doing reviews on some of the products mentioned because they deserve their own post but, that's it for now. Cheers x
